Left in a Park, Nearly Blind and Unable to Walk—Nedda’s Remarkable Fight to Run Again

Abandoned in a Cardboard Box

Nedda was found in a public park, curled tightly inside a small cardboard box.

She was trembling—thin, frightened, and barely responsive. When a woman gently lifted the box to look inside, she immediately noticed something was terribly wrong.

Nedda’s eyes were severely inflamed and stuck together. She could barely open them. It appeared she had been exposed to a harmful chemical, leaving her vision compromised. Someone had previously tried applying human eye gel, but it had only worsened the infection.

She looked almost blind.

And that wasn’t the only injury.

More Than One Battle to Fight

Further examination revealed that Nedda had suffered a spinal injury. Her back was fractured, leaving her rear legs paralyzed. She could not stand. She could only drag herself forward using her front legs.

The image of such a small puppy struggling to move was heartbreaking.

Yet when she was lifted, despite her fear, there was still a faint spark in her.

Rushed to the Veterinary Clinic

Nedda was taken immediately to a veterinary clinic. She was terrified at first, shrinking away from touch. Every movement startled her.

X-rays revealed a spinal injury that, while serious, carried more hope than initially feared. The damage was severe—but not irreversible.

The medical team began intensive treatment. Medications were administered. Injections were scheduled regularly. Her eyes were treated carefully with proper veterinary solutions to combat infection.

There was no guarantee.

Only possibility.

Healing would require patience.

A Miracle for Her Eyes

Slowly, day by day, the swelling in her eyes reduced.

The infection cleared.

And then, something extraordinary happened—Nedda could see.

Her eyes, once clouded and painful, became bright and alert. She followed movement. She reacted to light. She responded to gentle smiles and voices.

She was not blind after all.

Learning to Stand Again

Physical therapy became her next challenge.

The sessions were not easy. Strength had to be rebuilt carefully. She practiced shifting weight. Then trying to balance. Then attempting to stand, even if only for seconds.

There were wobbles.
There were falls.
There were pauses.

But there was also determination.

With consistent support from caregivers, Nedda managed her first shaky steps. Each attempt grew steadier than the last.

The puppy who once dragged herself forward began walking on her own.

A New Chapter Begins

After one week of intensive treatment, Nedda was stable enough to leave the clinic and continue recovery at her rescuer’s home.

There, her personality began to bloom.

She played with toys. She interacted with other dogs. She wagged her tail freely, no longer shrinking from every touch.

By day 37, a kind family stepped forward to adopt her.

From Survival to Joy

The final scenes of her journey are almost impossible to believe.

Nedda now runs swiftly across open grass. She plays on the beach. She hops excitedly while chasing a ball, her energy boundless and joyful.

The fragile puppy in the cardboard box is gone.

In her place stands a lively, confident dog who has reclaimed her life.

Saving one dog may not transform the entire world.

But for Nedda, the world opened wide the moment someone chose not to walk past that box in the park.
