Some rescue stories begin with fear.

Guddu’s story began after a brutal attack that nearly stole everything from him.

The tiny puppy had been viciously attacked by a much larger dog. By the time rescuers from the Shetu Share N Care Foundation found him, Guddu was trembling, crying constantly, and barely able to understand what was happening around him.

His small body was covered in painful injuries.
His face was badly swollen.
And worst of all — he had temporarily lost his vision.

For nearly five days, Guddu could not see.

He cried endlessly from fear and pain, unable to understand why the world around him had suddenly gone dark.

The rescuers rushed him for emergency treatment immediately.

A Long Night Filled With Tears
At the clinic, Guddu received fluids, medication, and urgent medical care.

But the hardest part came later.

During the nights, Guddu could not sleep peacefully.

Every one or two hours, he woke up crying in pain.

That’s when a rescuer named Kalpna made a decision that changed everything.

Instead of leaving Guddu alone at the shelter, she brought him home so she could care for him personally throughout the night.

While the rest of the world slept, Kalpna stayed beside the tiny puppy.

She gently comforted him whenever he cried.
She held him close when fear overwhelmed him.
And because Guddu was too weak to eat normally, she carefully fed him milk and soft food using a syringe.

Little by little, Guddu began understanding something important:

he was finally safe.

The Moment Hope Returned
Days passed slowly.

The swelling around Guddu’s face began to improve.
His body grew stronger.
And then came the moment everyone had been praying for.

Guddu could see again.

The tiny puppy who had once cried helplessly in darkness slowly began looking around with curious little eyes once more.

His energy returned.
His tail wagged again.
And the sadness that once filled his face slowly disappeared.

After ten long days of care, love, and sleepless nights, Guddu was no longer the terrified puppy rescuers first found.

He had become playful.
Energetic.
Full of life again.

A Beautiful Reunion
The happiest moment came when Guddu was finally reunited with his dog family.

The tiny puppy ran back toward the other dogs with excitement, as if he knew he had been given a second chance at life.

Watching him play happily again felt almost unbelievable compared to the frightened little soul he had once been.

Guddu’s journey is proof that healing doesn’t only come from medicine.
