Its small body was covered in mud, its fur matted with dirt, and fear filled its eyes. Alone in the middle of an open field, the little puppy had found the only shelter it could—a cramped space beneath a discarded container.

No one knew how long it had been there.

Then a kind woman noticed something moving.

She carefully knelt down, spoke softly, and gently lifted the frightened puppy into her arms. It was the beginning of a brand-new life.

But food and medicine weren’t the only things the puppy needed.
