A Tumor Covered His Face — But Potpot Never Stopped Hoping for Help

A Tiny House, A Heavy Burden

Potpot lived in a small, dim room barely large enough for a bed and a bowl of water.

When I first saw him, I stood still.

A massive tumor covered almost his entire face. His nose was swollen and misshapen. One eye had been pushed so far to the side that it seemed only a matter of time before his vision would be affected.

It was difficult to look at.

But what was even harder to see was how long he had been carrying that weight.

A Complicated Kindness

His owner was not cruel.

She fed him daily.
She spoke to him gently.
She tried to keep him company in that cramped space.

But she never brought him to a veterinarian.

As the growth became infected and began to deteriorate, the smell frightened her. The bleeding overwhelmed her. Slowly, she stopped hugging him. She stopped touching him.

Not because she didn’t care — but because she didn’t know what to do.

When she realized the situation was beyond her ability to manage, she finally called for help.

The Night Everything Changed

I rushed to her home that night.

Potpot walked toward me slowly. Despite the mass distorting his face, despite the discomfort he must have felt, his tail moved gently.

It was as if he believed I had come for him.

We brought him straight to the veterinary clinic. The medical team was visibly shaken when they examined him. Immediate testing was necessary.

A biopsy would determine whether the tumor was cancerous.

We waited.

And we prayed.

This was the moment hope returned.

Relief and a Plan Forward

The biopsy results brought unexpected relief.

The tumor was 99% benign.

Potpot still had a chance.

Removing such a large mass would not be simple. Surgery alone was not the first step. He required multiple rounds of medication and treatment — at least four — to reduce inflammation, fight infection, and stabilize his condition.

And Potpot fought through every stage.

He never resisted treatment.
He continued eating.
He rested patiently.

Day by day, the infected tissue began to heal. The swelling slowly decreased. His nose and eyes, once hidden beneath distorted skin, started to reappear.

For the first time, we could see his real face.

And there was hope in it.

A Transformation One Month Later

After the final round of medication, one month later, the change was extraordinary.

The tumor had nearly disappeared.

His health was stable.
His appetite strong.
His energy returning.

Messages of support poured in from people who had followed his journey. Potpot had touched hearts far beyond that tiny house where he once lived.

We were deeply grateful to everyone who stood behind him.

A Future Filled With Possibility

With his recovery well underway, we began searching for a loving family who could offer him the life he deserved.

A life with space.
With warmth.
With daily affection.

When I visited him again recently, he recognized me instantly. His tail wagged wildly. He leaned into my hands, as if saying thank you without words.

He is gentle.
He is friendly.
He is incredibly resilient.

Potpot is becoming beautiful in a way that goes far beyond appearance.

His story is not only about healing a body that carried a burden too long.

It is about restoring trust.
Restoring dignity.
Restoring hope.

He never stopped believing that someone would come.

And now, his second chance is unfolding — one gentle tail wag at a time.
